Fountain Community Gardens 10 year Anniversary by Laura

Our 10th Anniversary was celebrated at the end of Summer in 2019.  It was a perfect warm afternoon where new, present, and former members of the garden gathered to celebrate a decade of organic urban gardening.  There were lots of food, libations, workshops, and of course, cake!!

Enjoying the beautiful afternoon
Our garden was founded in 2009.  We are located in East Hollywood near the iconic 101 Freeway and Fountain Avenue. We are officially in Hollywood District 13.  Our mission is to provide a safe green space to our community members through inclusion of all ethnic and economic backgrounds. Currently we have over 100 gardeners working on 65 plots to plant, grow and provide fresh fruits and vegetables to themselves and their families. In doing so, we strive to provide an open environment for the benefit of our community and environment.
Bon Appetit!!

Our Master Gardener, Dan F, teaches gardening classes of all levels at a nominal fee. You may register through LACC Community services or by emailing the garden.

We also have community work days every second weekend of each month from 10 am to 12:30 pm. All are welcome.

Want to learn about composting? Email us to set up a compost date. Learn the in's and outs of composting.

We also have movie nights every first Saturday of the month. Movies are family friendly movies. Light snacks are provided and there is no cost. All are welcome.  So bring a blanket and join us for a movie. Email us for the upcoming movie.
We are eternally grateful to all the organizations that supported us and will continue to support our mission.  A Great Big Thanks to Hollywood Studio District Neighborhood Council, Mayor Garcetti's Office, Los Angeles Community Garden Council, & Mitch O'Farrell's Office
